Vendor Spotlight
What is the Vendor Spotlight?
The Vendor Spotlight is an easy and powerful way for vendors to provide more information to affiliates directly from the Marketplace.
What are the Benefits of Using Vendor Spotlight?
Vendor Spotlight provides a platform to let you tell affiliates more about you and your products, including your stats, your customer facing ads, and show them your membership image. You can also recommend other accounts, either yours or other trusted vendors, that affiliates can promote. This allows you to communicate with your affiliates more effectively than ever before!
The most exciting feature of Vendor Spotlight is that you can make announcements to clients, letting them know about upcoming product launches, changes to your products, suggestions and resources for promoting your products effectively, and other important news and information.
How do I Change or Update my General Information?
Go to ClickBank.com and log in. Click the Account Settings tab, and then click My Spotlight in the horizontal menu, just under the tabs. Please note that My Spotlight will only appear to vendors whose product has been approved. To the right side of the Profile Settings bar, click Edit. Once the page appears, you can do the following in the Profile Settings Editor:
- Click the Profile Image button to open the drop-down menu, and then select the image you want to display.
- Click the Profile Ad button to open the drop-down menu, and then select the desired ad you want to display.
- If you want to change your Marketplace information, next to Marketplace Title/Description, click the My Site page link (see the next section for more details).
- In the Affiliate Tools URL field, enter the URL of your affiliate page, if you have one. An affiliate page would be a page on your website with information about how to effectively promote your products.
- In the Recommended Accounts field, enter your account nickname and/or the account nicknames of other trusted vendors you would recommend to affiliates, and click Add Accounts(s).
- When you are finished, click Save Changes.
On the My Spotlight page, you can also click the View Your Spotlight Profile button to see what your profile looks like to others. Your Spotlight Profile will open in a separate browser page or tab.
Please note that the Gravity 30-day trend chart shown on this page currently uses sample data, but will use real data when Vendor Spotlight is added to the Marketplace in late September.
How do I Change Marketplace Information?
You will be unable to change your Marketplace information directly in Profile Settings Editor, as you did your general information (see the last section). Either click the My Site link next to Marketplace Title/Description in the Profile Settings Editor as previously described, or click My Site in the horizontal menu, under the tabs at the top of the page. When the page opens, click Edit at the right side of the Marketplace Information bar. Once the page opens, you can edit your information in the available fields as follows:
- Under Marketplace, in the Title field, enter the title for your Marketplace listing.
- In the Description field, enter a brief description of your product or account (up to 255 characters, including spaces).
- When finished, click the Save Changes button (this will show as Save Changes and Request Category Change, if you requested such a change in step 5).
Important! Any changes you make to the Marketplace Title and Description will change this information in both the Vendor Spotlight and the Marketplace. Do not make any changes here unless you want them displayed in both locations.
What is the Affiliate Tools URL?
Set in the Profile Settings Editor, the Affiliate Tools URL is a link to a page of resources for affiliates of your procuts, such as images, tips, suggested promotional strategies, and so on. If you have such a page, it is highly recommended that you list it in the Vendor Spotlight, as these pages are very attractive to affiliates in deciding which products to promote.
What are Recommended Accounts?
Recommended Accounts is a resource that lets you recommend any other accounts you may have, and other trusted vendor accounts, for affiliates to promote. You can add multiple accounts using the Profile Settings Editor in My Spotlight. Recommended Accounts are not endorsed, approved or recommended by ClickBank in any way.
How do I Post Announcements?
Go to www.clickbank.com, click on the Account settings tab, and then on My Spotlight, to take you to the page where you previously changed your General Information. At the right side of the Announcements bar, click Edit and do the following:
- In the Subject field, enter a subject for your announcement.
- In the Body field, enter the content for your announcement, including text, URLs to websites, and email addresses.
- When finished, click Save Changes.
When you are returned to the My Spotlight page, you will see your new announcement with the Status of PENDING APPROVAL, indicating that your announcement will not be available publicly until it has passed a security review process.
Any approved vendor can create an announcement for release. Announcements can be created on a weekly basis, and the announcement content, including the subject and body, can occupy up to two pages of space. Text, website URLs, and email addresses can all be included in the body of an announcement.
As previously mentioned, announcements that you create must undergo an approval process by our security team before being released to the public. We ask that you don’t write content that is disparaging to others or that could be perceived as offensive. The ideal use of announcements is to post updates about your products and services. Keep your content new and interesting. Please don’t post the same information each week.
PLEASE NOTE: ClickBank only reviews Promotions for content that is patently illegal, inappropriate or obscene on its face. ClickBank does not investigate or verify or assume responsibility for the accuracy of any claims or representations you make or make any determination as to whether you have the right to use any content. ClickBank’s approval of Promotions should not be interpreted as an endorsement or approval of your Promotion, even after approval, you remain solely responsible and liable for any and all content contained in your Promotion.
