Coming Soon: Changes to ClickBank Order Form

Posted by: Kristen M., Marketing Communications Manager

As part of our recent update to the look and feel of the ClickBank website, we are making visual changes to our order form. A brief but statistically significant split test was recently conducted, and the modified order form outperformed the current order form. Due to these positive results, we will begin using a modified version of our order form on Wednesday, June 17th.

In anticipation of this change, please update your payment link images. New payment button images that reflect our new colors can be found here.

Nice, looking forward to that. About time the old order form got a facelift as well.

  • John says:

Kristen, I really appreciate the fact that Clickbank is testing all of these changes and constantly improving.

There is one other thing I hope you can test. Currently the new ticket system appears to have “refund request” pre-selected rather than “tech support request”. If someone wants a tech support request, they have to physically select it.

Could you please make “tech support request” the default option rather than “refund request”? At the very least, this would make a great thing to test, to see if it leads to fewer refunds. (It certainly seems logical that it would.)

  • John says:

Nevermind my previous post — I just checked on a recent receipt, and it appears “tech support request” is now the default.

  • Beau Blackwell, Marketing Coordinator says:

    Hi John,

Just to let you know, “refund request” is only selected by default when the vendor creates a new ticket, since we assume that if they’re creating a ticket it’s to process a refund. If a customer submits a ticket, the default option selected is “tech support request.” Hope that clears things up!

  • John says:

That definitely does clear things up. Thanks Beau!

  • Brown on blue performs better than blue on blue?

    Strange.

To bad you don’t give vendors the ability to split-test color schemes and use what works best for US instead of what works best for everyone.

It really wouldn’t be that hard to do…

I am new at this and have not made any money yet and I have a question. In my notes that I have copied it says that to verify my hoplink is done correctly: 1. Enter your Hoplink into a new browser window, and hit “”Enter.”
    2. Click on one of the publisher’s ClickBank order buttons.
    3. Scroll to the bottom of the ClickBank order form. You should see your account nickname listed as the affiliate. For example, [affiliate = jane1].
I have gone to three Clickbank sites such as Legitonline jobs, etc. and when I am on their site I do not see “ClickBank order buttons.” Scrolling to the bottom doesn’t help any either. What am I missing, I am ready to do this now? I am not sure how soon someone can get back to me so I will keep trying.

    Thanks

Thanks for the visual changes to Clickbank order form, i guess it does outperformed the old forms.

    Awesome enhancements.

  • Anthony says:

The new Clickbank Order Form color combination looks plain ugly! I don’t understand why you’ve continued using the original blue left and right margins, and then that strange looking brown colored background. I think that your new color scheme at the Clickbank website itself looks good, but that’s not what you’ve used for the new Order Form – you’ve used part of the new color scheme and mixed it with the old color scheme!

    Why?

  • john says:

I think the new form is uglier than the older one, so I can’t really see how that would make conversions higher.

  • Abdu says:

I think the new form is good I like.
I notice that the list of Countries on your LOCATION list does not include some African Countries such as Nigeria, Niger and Chad. These countries are potential markets for most of the products. While it is true that we cant use pay pal but most of us have MASTER CARDS and other cards. You should give us a chance by including more African countries please.
    Thanks Abdu

    Hi Patti,

    Patti,

Vendors are under no obligation to use a default order button. They can choose any button they wish to use, as long as it goes to the order page.

I just went to the site you mentioned (above) and saw TWO order links. Both of them point to the correct order form.

Any button can serve the same purpose, or you can even use a html hyperlink to direct the visitor to the correct CB order page.

If your own affiliate link does not show at the bottom of the page then you may have someone else’s cookie on your PC.

Simply empty your cache (Temporary Internet Files) and reload the page with your own affiliate link. This should then show your link at the bottom of the order page.

    Jason :o )

P.S. I do not like the new color scheme. Hasnt anyone ever looked up the Psychology of Marketing? Colors do play an important role in having someone buy. The current color combination does not do that. Also remember that not everybody has the latest computer with 5 million colors on it. Pastel colors are prefered. The old order form worked perfectly and looked good.

  • Adrian says:

Well, in later posts and comments (from other posts as well) Beau mentioned that the new design out-performed the old all-blue (miss that) design. But in my case it simply reduced my conversion rate by 50%. I am saying this because I experienced a huge drop in sales during the last week of June. The sales copy, graphics, bonuses and everything else was the same as it was before, only one thing changed – the Clickbank Order page. I am not yet complaining as I would like to wait for another 15 days or so, do more testing and observe the trend. May be I should implement some tips suggested in this blog.

Nonetheless, the blue theme was at least visually much soothing.

By the way, I am a Clickbank vendor (and an affiliate).

  • Doug says:

First off, kudos to CB for working hard to make improvements. However, I also need to chime in and say I don’t like the new colors.

Rather than forcing a “one size fits all” approach, I’d like to see more options for vendors to customize the look of their check out page. Furthermore, not only would I like the ability to set my own background and form colors, I’d like to supply my own header graphics. The idea is to have your page look like it’s part of my site … not to make it obvious that the customer is now on another site entirely.

Anyway, please consider my request and other similar ones as I really believe it will result in more total sales.

  • Will says:

I agree, the new order form and site looks ugly. I really don’t understand why Click bank are so against allowing us some control over the look and feel of our order pages. The only reason we want it is so we can increase our conversions which in turn fattens Click banks back pocket anyway. They just don’t seem to understand.

And if they think that this new colored order form outperforms the old one, I would really like to know the way this was tested. Why don’t you try testing more important things first such as allowing us to upload our own logo’s in the header – or moving the Mcafee trust seals higher up the page.

I dare say Paypal has done a lot more split testing than Clickbank and they were clever enough to figure out that customised order forms outperform generic ones – why can’t Clickbank see this? It’s almost as though they don’t want to make anymore profit.

  • Eugene says:

Clickbank has been improving their system and this is great thing.
however since the new ticket system my refund rate has grown crazy, Clickbank is inviting every buyer to issue a refund

  • Beau Blackwell, ClickBank says:

    Eugene,

We keep a very close eye on refund rates, and since implementing the ticket system we haven’t seen any increase in refunds overall. This feature was actually requested by many vendors so that they could attempt to save the sale by providing support, rather than having ClickBank issue a refund without allowing them to offer support first. We will continue to look for ways to improve the ticket system, but so far it has not led to an increase in refund rates.
